My first flight on a 707 was June 1967; I was 21 and heading from New York-Kennedy to London-Heathrow. What a thrill. Whenever "Jet Airliner" comes on, I'm many years younger and back on that Pan Am airplane!

This ain't the 'Long' version - it's THE VERSION!

And any radio station that plays the "3 : 05" cut, or substitutes "funky 'kicks'" for 4:11 can kindly switch formats or go all talk 😉

If you lived in Atlanta dying the 70’s. This is the only version the radio station played. Man I miss those days.

Great song from 1977 & the greatest and/or one of the greatest decades for music. Give me the 1970’s music anyday, anytime, anyplace.

The intro to this song is pure "Boeing 707"!! I flew on a couple of 707s back in 1973, and everytime I hear this, it brings back those great memories. It became a top-of-the-charts blockbuster tune back in the day, and remains a true classic by Steve Miller to this day. This is the very best version of this timeless masterpiece. What a perfect song to represent an absolute marvel of an airplane, the Boeing 707 itself. The video presentation of the classic "jet airliner", is a many "thumbs up". However, late in the song, they must've accidentally placed a Pan Am DC-8 picture in here. How did that get in?? Otherwise, I can't say too much more about this one, only that such an iconic song starts to give the public worldwide, a true perspective on "jet-travel".

Do check out Paul Pena’s version. He wrote the song, and recorded it in 1973 for his album New Train. But because of legal issues, the album wasn’t released until 2000. So, for almost 3 decades, the Steve Miller version was the only one we heard.

The guitar is crisp clear and clean, I don't play the instrument yet without playing it don't take rocket science to realize this is phenomenal! Only a few men on earth can play like this, I think that's why its off the ground.
