A very warm welcome to the 78th Fraser Highlanders returning to Scotland for Piping Live and the World Pipe Band Championships. This is the band under Pipe Major Douglas MacRae and Drum Sergeant Drew Duthart playing its medley selection in the Open Grade One competition at the games.

The band's medley comprises:

Barbados
Macbeth's Strathspey
Annie Grant
Sound of Sleat
New Air*
Dr Flora MacAuley
Turf Lodge
The KC Connection

*It is not known whether 'New Air' is a placeholder for an as yet unnamed slow air or the name of an actual slow air.

The 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band is based in Ontario in Canada. The band takes its name after the 78th (Highland) Regiment of Foot (Fraser's Highlanders) which was raised in 1757 as the 2nd Highland Battalion in Inverness by Simon Fraser of Lovat, son of Lord Lovat (The Fox). The regiment saw action in North America during the Seven Years' War and was disbanded in 1763.
