Marijuana users struggling with ridiculously overpriced marijuana

I tried a dispensary in Oakland, they charged me $60 for an 8th of dry, mid, garbage weed. I went to see “pookie” down the street and he charged me $20 for an 8th of the best weed I ever had in my life… Never will I go to a dispensary again.

I'm in Canada and the problem here is these 'legal' stores are all like some boutique style menus with a crazy price gouge gap. So people are getting it from Jimmy down the street. And not only that but the product the dispensaries have is dry and is like rolling dust. It's legal that's great, but it was poorly mismanaged with unrealistic expectations.

This is what happens when you over-regulate and overtax an industry

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for..

In San Jose California you order something 40$ on weedmaps and at the store you get slapped with excise tax, sales tax, local tax and suddenly it’s 70$😂

The quality of what they sell in the dispensaries is egregious, not to mention heinously overpriced. What did they expect to happen?

Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, alcoholism, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.

Letting the government dictate what we do in our private lives is much more a problem than marijuana sales.

The tax is too high to even profit and it’s so hard to even start a business

When you build a pot shop on every corner it's not like gas where everyone needs to get high.

Marijuana is a spanish word and ILLEGAL to use in US English Common Laws. All marijuana laws are automatically nule and void for not defining the plant in English. Law 101.

It isn't hard to figure out, the legal dealers have to lease a store, pay employees, pay taxes and benefits and licensing fees that all gets added on to the price of the weed. A street dealer buys in bulk and under sells the legal dealer since he has no overhead. Once the novelty of buying at a store wears off most users go back to their old dealer or grow their own. The law of unintended consequences! LMFAO

I’m one of those people that planted two cannabis plants because the prices are getting ridiculous, I’m disabled with spina bífida and have a lot of difficulties with nerve pain due to my body structure, cannabis is the only thing that helps with pain, eating, sleeping anxiety and I am able to go to the gym with zero issues, I’m already paying for so much food, car insurance cost of living and purchasing at dispensary doesn’t help me I walk out with less paying more

High prices are the problem. Taxed, license fees, rental fees, and customers who can grow their own for alot less. Everybody got GREEDY. Not that hard to grow if you have a space private enough. How much do you need for personal use? I wouldn't trust the Cartels crops because of the fertilizers and pesticides used are not safe for ingesting.
Been around it for close to 60 years. States Greed is the biggest problem as all they want is revenue. And that's probably the biggest reason they finally legalized it.
