How To Open .jar Files with Java using Jarfix

How can you use Jarfix to open your Java files by double clicking? Well, in this video, we go over exactly how to fix .jar files to open with Java. This is actually extremely simple using Jarfix, and once you have gotten the correct version of Java and ran Jarfix, all of your .jar files will be relinked to Java. This will stop WinRAR, 7Zip and other programs opening jar files as well.

About this video: If you want to fix your Java files, this is the video for you! We show you exactly how to open Java files by first getting the correct version of Java, and secondly running the Jarfix. With this, you will be able to double-click on .jar files in order to open and run them. This is the easiest way to use programs that are made with Java.

First things first, you will need to make sure you have Java installed. We have a complete guide on getting Java in the description above that we keep up-to-date with the recommended Java version.

Once you are on our website, click the ‘Download Java’ button. Next, you will need to navigate to ‘Windows’, and then, click the download link next to ‘x64 Installer’.

From there, you can just double-click to open the Java installer and go through the Java installation progress. This is required in order to easily open .jar files and link them back to Java. If you don’t have Java, you can’t link your files back to Java.

With Java installed, we can move on to the next step of the process. This is running the Jarfix.

You can find a link to our in-depth on using the Jarfix in the description above. Once you there, click the ‘Download Jarfix’ button, and it will start downloading right away.

With the Jarfix downloaded, it is super easy to use it to fix your Java files. Just double-click on the Jarfix, and it will run right away. You will then get a success message that it has worked and you can now double-click to open .jar files!

At this point, all you need to do is test and make sure that your .jar files aren’t opening with programs like WinRAR anymore. Not only should the icons be Java logos, they should also be able to be double-clicked and opened.
