Let's Make JMS [JADAM Microbial Solution]

In this video I make a microbial rich solution called Jadam Microbial Solution [JMS]

JMS is a great way to add diversity and microbial life into your soil using baked potatoes & leaf mold.
In this video, I make the solution in a 4 gal bucket and I use a dilution rate of 1:20. That is about 25 oz of JMS solution per 4 gal of water which is then soil drenched onto my plot.

This is a great introduction to natural farming and anyone can do it!

A couple things, you should water it in with a hose or wait to brew until there is rain in the forecast. Since it’s an anaerobic soup it should go way down at least past the first 2 to 3 inches of soil where there is no air, to insure most anaerobes will survive. I heard this from master Cho.

You can use this straight too in an area you won't be planting in for a few weeks. I do this all season long with the diluted every month or so, and in spring before I can plant go I full strength. It is best if you apply before or even after a good rain to get the microbes down deep, and you can even water it in too with rain water. It has a funky sort of sweet cheesy smell to it I've come to know. I like searching for good soil microbes when I go places, just throw a handful in a bag and keep it for next time. As long as it's pretty much local to your area I believe a good variety is a good idea and I'll add in some of my own compost and leaf mold too. It's so satisfying to see a big foamy head on the bucket to know it's good to go.👍🏻 It works like having everything that makes forest soil awesome, transferred into your garden bed where the microbes will then live, multiply, and break down soil into plant available compounds. Jadam is such a great knowledge base to add to any gardening routine.

When things began to “go crazy” I heard about the coming fertilizer shortage. Immediately I did some research and purchased the Book JADAM Organic Farming. In the Introduction of the Book, his words appear to be very prophetic.
I am thankful that I got the book . I have used his system and nothing more, it is extremely productive. It is good for the soil and the garden!

Hey thanks for the video! I have my first growing season under my belt. Looking at branching out and working on a local orchard...and expanding the market garden. I currently grow micogreens under the name Mr Microgreen. Wish me luck. THanks for helping my understanding more about JADAM. I just brought the book and will continue to study and put into practice JADAM farming here in New Zealand.

VERY IMPORTANT for the microbes to keep your soil covered! Either mulch or cover crops. Otherwise the sun, heat and air will kill everything down several inches in your warm climate.

Looks fairly easy, thanks for the video and I'm planning to try this! It's pretty cold at the moment outside so I might bring it inside - any odours or degassing that I would need to be worried about?

can I add an air pump at the bottom of the bucket to help the process?
