Working in Theatre: Box Office

If you’ve ever picked up theatre tickets at the “will call” line, purchased tickets just a few minutes before showtime, had a disability accommodated at a show, or just stopped by the window outside our theatre to find out what’s playing, you’ve played a part in what Center Theatre Group First Assistant Treasurer Kishisa Ross loves most about her job: working with patrons.

In our latest Working in Theatre video, Kishisa offers some insight into what goes on behind the box office windows before and after the show. She and her colleagues are responsible for varied tasks including calculating ticket sales to balance out the books after each performance, reserving “house seats” set aside for use by cast members, producers, the creative team, and others involved in the production, and helping people who need ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) seats.
