While I have always believed he was real for a log time now, I believe "John" is a selfish jerk that doesn't care about anyone but himself. If his being here doesn't change his future, since he can go back to his own time regardless, why wouldn't he just tell us everything we need to know to change it? He gets to keep his crap hole of a time period and we can prevent stop it from becoming that way. Knowing people don't change, at least let a few of us that were around at the time become wealthy by insider knowledge to live better lives. John was selfish just as he claimed we were. Newsflash, it's the governments, not the people that have a choice.
