Album - The Titanic Requiem
On 15 April 1912 the Titanic sank in the North Atlantic and over 1,500 people died. 100 years later, Robin Gibb and his son RJ, commemorate this disastrous voyage and catastrophic loss of life with the release of The Titanic Requiem, their first classical work together. Recorded at Air studios with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the RSVP Voices choir, and produced by Cliff Masterson and Savvas Iosifides, this modern classic includes three vocal pieces: Daybreak (Mario Frangoulis), Christmas Day (Isabel Suckling), and Don't Cry Alone in which Robin Gibb sings the evocative lead vocal.

Robin, we are not crying alone. Our collective hearts are breaking now, but you are mercifully at peace now. Thank you for gracing us with your monumental talents. We love you sweetheart.

For me, this is one of my favourite songs ever recorded. It sounds as if Robin (God rest his soul) was almost ready to depart this world and his selflessness is shown in this song. Such a poetic and beautiful song with such a powerful message. One of the most inspiring musicians ever to grace this Earth!

It doesn't get any more beautiful than this. As you dear brother Maurice put it, yours "is the voice that touches the heart."

I really discovered Robin after his death his incredible voice his career without his brothers
When I think he composed that song a requiem for the dead of the Titanic 100 years sad anniversary but this man was a beautiful soul thinking of other dead when he was dying himself
I saw him in concert alone in Amsterdam..he was the VOICE What amaze me is the fact that his voice was untouched by his sickness as beautiful and power as always
10 years already but you are not forgotten...your voice will live for ever

I am crying as I listen to this. It is so beautiful. I had no idea that Robin had this kind of music in him. What a terrible loss. He will be missed forever. I still can't believe he is gone.

Still brings tears to my eyes. No one has ever had such a plaintive, emotional voice. One of the GREAT artists of our time.

I met Robin once and taught his son RJ aged 8. Long had such a fascination for Robin's voice - what amazing sensitivity in the phrasing and tone. This song is almost too sad for the human heart to bear.

So beautiful, and ironic that this is Robin's last song. Some live on long past their time on earth, and Robin Gibb surely will, thanks to his wonderful body of work.

Robin, you have given me one of the most magic dance opportunities in the eighties, when I grew up behind the Iron Curtain and only had a little radio that was able to receive "enemy" waves. You made the Cold War easier to bear. Thank you. I will cherish your work forever. Rest in peace. Love A.
