You had me up until saying Scump, Formal, Dashy and Envoy would stay in Chicago under new ownership. There is a *literal 0% chance* that Hecz is gonna leave them, like not even worth discussing its that unlikely. They'll find a way or this ain't happening, simple as.

What a weird situation. The league is stupid for preventing Chicago Optic. I don't think they understand how beneficial to the league that would be. Financially and in regards to viewership. I understand they probably don't want that to be a precedent that's set, of franchise names changing cities but that's been a thing in other sports like the NFL and it's always worked out fine. Zero chance Hecz abandons that Huntsmen roster. Hecz is a man of his people and I'm confident he'd pick his people over the OG branding.

Franchises rebrand sometimes (ex: Washington Football Team, Seattle SuperSonics, STL Rams, etc.), IMO the league is making a mistake by not allowing them to change their name.

Matt mentioned it in the 24 hour stream the other day. LA Thieves ain’t happening boys.... Also, Matt would not want his CDL team outside of LA. He wants to be there for them at all times. Having the team in Chicago would not work for him.

The league is so so so dumb. If they wanted this to actually succeed they would let the huntsmen become the Chicago Optic, and they would partially pay or help 100 thieves or Doc get into the LA roster spot. The storyline of the boys returning under the Optic name with Hecz at the helm would be massive. I don't watch call of duty league, but a story line of that scale and rooting for the og Optic would totally be enough to get me to tune into streams again. No one cares about the Huntsmen branding just let them drop it

Sell LA spot to 100T, pull Optic from COD, continue with huntsmen for at least a year, then re-enter with Optic which would no longer have a city obligation. Could be a way to resolve the dilemma with time.

They can insert certain clauses for a buyout/release of the Huntsmen roster upon acquisition of the Chicago CDL spot (devalue the CDL spot to ease roster buyout aka sell for cheaper than market value) -- essentially swapping Free Agency roster spots from one team to the other and Hecz with a GA to his players to re-sign... we know they're loyal to him.

It’d be stupid of the CDL not to let them rebrand Chicago to Optic, and on top of that I don’t think there’s any way Hecz will switch to LA over Chicago because he’s always said Chicago is his home. It’s also kind of a bummer, because the Chicago Huntsmen brand is honestly pretty sweet. The merch is great, the logos are great, the branding is great. I hope Huntsmen doesn’t fade away.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens and which spot is sold.
