Bellona, in Roman religion, goddess of war, identified with the Greek Enyo. Sometimes known as the sister or wife of Mars, she has also been identified with his female cult partner Nerio. Her temple at Rome stood in the Campus Martius, outside the city's gates near the Circus Flaminius and the temple of Apollo

The poster girl for the MOBA Smite: Battleground Of The Gods has finally arrived! Like so many gods and goddesses in all mythology across the world, Bellona was one that I had never heard of until I learned about, and eventually played, Smite. Now she's one of my favorite Warriors to play in that game, and one of (in my opinion, at least) the best characters to start out with for players just getting into Warrior Class for the first time. Her portrayal in Smite stays very true to her original mythology, and gives her access to all the weapons she's usually portrayed with in her gameplay: sword, sword and shield, warhammer, and scourge/chain whip.
