BK digs in on the Mets, Cardinals and Padres as they all eye a return to the Postseason. With all 3 of them currently out of the Postseason picture, how many will turn it around?

Wild how teams like the Cardinals, Padres, Mets have severely under-performed, just as much as teams like the Rangers, DBacks, Rays, REDS have over-performed.

I'm 53 years old and I've been a suffering fan in San Diego for most of it. Foks around here talk about a curse on the city. I dont know if I believe in curses but I can tell you that for as long as I have lived here, we have had nothing but crappy fortunes with all of our teams. I promise you, we have some of the most loyal and supportive fan bases out here but for whatever reason, our pro sports teams choke hard. Especially when there is "expectation". I saw it with the Chargers, I've seen it with the Padres of seasons past and this year is as sad as it gets. Fan interest in the city is at an all time high. The stadium is packed and selling out and yet here we are again...and it makes me as a long suffering fan just sad.

I think there might be like a 92 win team and missed the playoffs

Neither of the 3 will be in playoffs and I’m a padres fan.

All these teams can turn it around... if they play the Yankees.

Teams and owners (mostly yankees) have shown time and time again that you can’t just throw money around and expect to win.

Crazy how beginning in July your counting these teams out lol, if it was September then okay maybe hit the panic button. Some teams after the all star break can turn it around. The cards have done that before.

A bigger question is will Pirates turn things around and if so when?

How the hell can the cardinals turn it around, they dug a hole so deep already. They'd need to play .700 baseball from here to even have a chance at the wildcard

The team that has the most to lose here is obviously the Padres, when it comes to payroll, they are entering new territory. Do folks think that people from San Diego are going to paying New York Yankee prices to see their team play like this??? The Mets will be able to spend their way out of their problems, the Cardinals will just bring up somebody from their farm, and be better once again, no way in hell the San Diego padres will be able to sustain what they have already amassed . I see a fire sale coming very soon.

Once again, The Rays prove intelligence over money. LFG

No they can’t. Maybe the Cardinals because of the division. But the Mets and Padres are done

Don’t see Cardinals do anything but selling off the possibilities of having a better team in the next 5 years. They are an organization in decline and really need to fire the GM who is out of touch. They have big name players but no team Leadership and a Puppet for manager. Hopefully AI will replace their manager. Attendance is declining and really they are not a very exciting team.

The Mets have found creative ways to lose yes Max and Justin have been bad but for a team to be that talented and play that well a year ago to be this embarrassing is hilarious. Pete is leading the league in homers, Alvarez looks like a stud, even Maxs record is 7-2 with suspension. They are 8 games out. Bucks head has to roll

In the end, these 3 teams are not relevant.

Honestly the cardinals should trade their two all stars. THey can get max value for both of them and be in the middle of a rebuilt trying to compete. Its literally take the L this season but you reload on so manyyounger guys hungry to win that are ranked in the top 100 in the mlb. They are in a good position to do that. Im pretty sure the dodgers would trade for Nolan or like thesomeone else trading for Goldy. I hope The yankees trade for nolan and give up Donaldson and some prospects.

Arrogance and complacency have led to this. Guess which team I’m a fan of.

Can we just talk about teams like the Orioles, Rays, Diamondbacks, Reds, Marlins, and Rangers for crying out loud? Not the same damn song and dance we've heard with the same few teams all season.

Are we gonna talk about this every day?

Anyone that actually knew baseball knew that the Cardinals didn't have any pitching, The Mets didn't have any depth and the Padres also didn't have any depth. This isn't surprising at all.
