As a nwbie 90 years old I worked two months to be able to upload codes to my Esp32, and you are the only one that helped me to be able to go through with this new project I deeply want to thank you again, you are the best of all the video that I tryed with no results.

After years of using the STM32 bluePill, I decided to check out the ESP32. Your video makes it look really easy - I get my device today, so I will be following you examples closely

Thank you for this very helpful video.
I would just like to make two things clear if anyone is using the ESP32 DevkitC 38pin version, the built in LED is on IO 1 and not IO2.
The second thing that needs mentioning, is when you download from the Arduine IDE to the board once it has compiled the program and then starts to download using the com: port, you must push and release the Boot button for 2 seconds, the download will then run correctly.

Nice and very informative video. I'm about to get one of these for myself but I'm not sure which one would be better to get. I've noticed that the 38pin one has 5V output pin which might be useful but it is missing VIN pin. So how to power it up other than using micro usb port? Am I missing something?( I am new to arduino and all those modules). Any help appreciated.

For anyone not able to upload a sketch. make sure to hold down the "boot" button before uploading. when u see connecting...___... release the button and it should work...took me ages to figure out as i thought my board was bad!

Thank you for covering this. Fantastic! Can you give a tutorial on battery management for simultaneous charging and usage for ESP32? Maybe using the SparkFun Thing Plus as your model?

Love the walkthrough, thank you!

i have the same esp32 but i have to use a capacitor between en and gnd in order to program it which is not always a viable option. is there any way to eliminate the capacitor problem.

hi robojax, someone mentioned using Arduino IDE is not the optimum way to program the esp32... why would that be? thanks a lot for the videos, you're a great teacher!

Thanks for the nice video. I got the same 38P version. Firstly it does not have the LED on pin 2, but one can connect an external LED to 2 or even a volt meter, and you will see, that it works.
More importantly, in the production of the version 38P board, they seem to have made a big mistake and have marked the second pin on the left side of the RST button, just next to V5 as "GND". It is actually the "CMD" pin, or GPIO 11. Very confusing!!

Thank you very much for this tutorial ❤!
I worked through this project and had everything working. But now, when I recompile and upload the code (the exact same code was working before) on any of my ESP32 boards, I get a PSRAM error ("psram: PSRAM ID read error: displayed in the Serial Monitor). The the only solution I've found online relates to PlatformIO, not Arduino IDE. May I ask, do you know what might have caused this (especially since it worked before) and how to possibly fix it?
