Boohbah [Nostalgia Trip NOT FOR KIDS]

I’m 22 and I watched Boohbah sporadically as a little kid in the mid-2000s. But I only remember the plushie and board game I used to have when I was little. This show was weird as hell. 😂

The Boohbah's are so dang creepy. Especially when you encounter it as a kid. The moving eyes, the little blinking sounds of the characters, and then the weird farting noises that occur when they fly. If they were horror movie characters, I'd say they would look great.

I was hooked on this as a kid like meth, my mother literally forced me to stop watching it by breaking the DVD and I haven't watched it since, I have no idea why but all the weirdness appealed to me as a kid, I specifically remember the relaxing credits I used to walk asleep and wake up to

At least with the Teletubbies, each teletubby had its own distinct personality and could easily be told apart by everyone, even small children, due to their voices, colors, sizes, and raven the weird antennae on their heads.
All of the Booh-Bahs look identical except with their colors, and their names are just so stupid that they are forgettable, not to mention the fact that they all rhyme with each other makes it harder to match to each character.
I think that this, along with Jay Jay the Jet Plane were the worse PBS Kids Shows of the 2000’s (Jay Jay because the planes were so disgusting to look at).

I had no idea this was a thing until today and now I feel violated by its very existence. The Boohbahs are the best example of Uncanny Valley I’ve seen in a while

It’s really hard to believe that the people behind this show thought that it would encourage kids to get up and exercise when Lazytown literally debuted the same exact year this did

Boohbah makes Teletubbies look less creepy in comparison. The episodes are as confusing and disturbing as a PS3 launch commercial or episode of Serial Experiments Lain, and these are the most terrifying kids show characters from the UK next to Mr Noseybonk and Mr Blobby! Was this an acid trip or a nightmare?

I remember turning on the TV and flipping channels in the early 2000s (as an adult) and landing on this, and I swear to God, I thought I was having a legit fever dream or tripping on something. I've tried to tell one of my friends about this thing for years, and trying to explain in words how "WTF" this show was will never do it justice. Sesame Street or Electric Company, this was not.

Their not the worst. I think it’s cute! Plus it help children develop movement, math, problem-solving, and language skills while also engaging their imaginations, and they don’t make fart sounds! Their making grunt sounds OK! Plus the storypeople don’t even talk. The kids probably found out the problem they have due to the music and sound effects! And the boohbahs are cute, small, and very nice. I mean come on do you think their just creepy and bite you?My little godsister loves this show as well.
And I’m gonna talk about why everyone thinks boohbah are not scary and they are an important lesson to kids.

Ah yes, Boohbah. A strange show that I have odd memories of. I had one of the toys if I recall.

I completely disagree with everything you said about this show that’s probably the best thing out of the early 2000s on PBS kids.. but I respect your opinion
