For Radxa, and the others, beating the Raspberry Pi will have to invest heavily in software support, leaving it in the hands of the community will take a long time to beat the RPi. I have one Radxa (RS102-D2E8H) compared to how easily Raspberry OS works with pretty much everything OK, Radxa takes a beating.

It's pretty easy to beat any Raspberry Pi chip. All you need to do is have something that is ACTUALLY PURCHASABLE.

This will work well for my use case. I will use it to write very personal secretive files so the device needs to be offline and I will use a usb drive as a bridge when the files are done. so the only programs needed are a text processor and this seems to be a over kill when it comes to it.

This looks awesome, surprising for the form factor.

Cool! I always wanted a board that fits in a cavity of a 5.25 floppydrive for a retro project and powerfull enough to run dosbox pentium spec games.

Hey Luke,
I got one question. On the Raxda-Website with model list they say, that the H Model has soldered GPIO-header and onboard antenna. T variant doesn’t have both, so external antenna is needed in order to get wireless capability. The version you own seems to be the T variant, so how do you connect to the internet for YouTube etc.?
Greetings Niklas

If it runs Twister OS well, that comes with Retropie should be super easy to compare to Pi's with emulation. Android 9.0 you can install Google apps with... GAPPS, or some other sideloading. There's videos on that. The Android 9.0 I've been using for years now. I use both OS and just switch between them. Twister is so good you don't need Windows. I've been playing Doom mods in WINE. Got Half-Life to play on the official 7" touchscreen. Where it will take a hit is in not having USB 3.0. Writing this on a Pi4 running Twister OS... installed in a Sony Boombox.

Do pi zero cases and accessory boards work with it, like HDMI or usb boards?

Interesting. I may have to get one of these, as I can't find much with the Raspberry Pi drought and all.

Nice vid!
How would you say this fares in emulation? Think it can pull Dreamcast?

Is it possible to just write Linux to the SD card without erasing the eMMC?

Is anyone running a standalone digital display using a Radxa Zero? Has anyone done a how to video or article?

Hi! I have a problem with usb. I power it via gpio 5V with a phone charger, it works fine. But only the usb3 is working, the usb2 where the power went before the gpio it does not recognise anything. How did you installed the apps? Thru sd card? THX!

Hi Luke. Great review. Please don’t take this as a criticism. The name is Radxa Pronounced “rad za”

I am sorry but is it such a big effort to actually learn how to pronounce a word you'll be saying so many times in a video? I mean "Radxa" of course. Other that this, a nice review.
