Rest in Peace, Gummigoo. Gummigoo might have just been a NPC, but he wasn’t, he realized he was and accepted that fact. He didn’t deny it, like Pomni but Pomni is a human. He had 2 friends, and wanted them not to suffer of realizing they were almost nothing, but they weren’t.. Hopefully… Gummigoo will come back some other episode, and remember what happened. May we remember Gummigoo…

I have a theory that Jax might be an npc, which could be why he's not attached to any of the other crew members (as shown by him seemingly being annoyed with the prospect of them holding a funeral) as he sees himself as different from the rest of them and responds to things differently as a result. Given that Jax has been there for a while and we're told by Caine that he's always updating the npcs, it's possible that Jax is an npc (probably a thief of some kind since we see in both episodes that he knows how to easily get access to other people's things) that managed to slip through and play it off as if he was like the others since he wouldn't have a reason to believe that he wasn't at the time anyway. Jax, given his characterization would've always been cunning and clever but perhaps he doesn't have the same emotional capabilities as the others because Caine didn't make minor npcs like that at the time. It also might've been easy for him to convince Caine if a)the circus was more crowded then, b)Jax didn't have many memories of his life which would match the experiences of the others, and less likely but still an interesting idea, c)Jax was the first npc to slip through and Caine only realized it was possible later on with someone else.
