Model 3 Standard Range Plus - 0-60, 1/4 Mile and Mid-Range Acceleration Times Using Dragy

Like any car owner, I'm always curious what numbers my car will put up in a measured test. In this video I tested my 2021 Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+) for an hour or two using a Dragy performance meter. Tests were done on a country road with no other vehicles present to ensure a safe experience. Below are my results. Times shown are the fastest runs that were deemed "valid" by Dragy:

0-60 mph: 5.49 seconds (vs. factory claimed 5.3 seconds)
1/4 Mile: 13.68 seconds
30-50 mph: 1.79 seconds
40-60 mph: 1.92 seconds
50-70 mph: 2.28 seconds
60-80 mph: 2.55 seconds

Battery state of charge at beginning of testing: 95%
Battery state of charge at end of testing: 75%

All in all, impressive numbers for the base model Tesla in 2021! As I stated in the video, 0-60 is not where this car will impress you, it's the midrange acceleration that really wows you, it's so fun! Having said that, I was bummed that my best valid 0-60 run was 5.49 seconds vs. Tesla's claimed 5.3 seconds, especially with a full battery on flat roads. Might just have to try again!

105 MPH trap speed is great.... seems to really pick up speed from like 30 MPH, I think you just gave me the green light to not feel bad about getting an SR

Because your standard plus is newer it uses a new battery that is heavier. My 2020 standard plus runs 13.2 13.1 at 106 constantly.

The unfortunate part is, when guys say, I smoked a model 3 or a tesla in general, very rare cases it’s actually true, 98 percent of the time the tesla is in chill mode. I think they also forget that just because they accelerate quickly doesn’t mean they are actually racing you, remember you could be flooring it when the tesla beside you is using 20 percent of its throttle so saying you smoked it is pointless especially when 98 percent of the time they never even initiate the race and it’s funny because they try to start a race with a mom taking her kids to school :/

this mid range is interesting! What I'm most curious about is like 40-90 but I figured if you have 40-60 in 1.92 sec and 60 to 80 in 2.55 thats simple 1.92+2.55 so around 4, 5 sec from 40-80 ( it is electric so there is no loss with lower torque or gearbox...) 4.5 sec 40-80 is really impressive

I smoked one of these turds in my 2015 skyline 350gt hybrid yesterday these are not fast at all if you want speed buy the damn performance model these base models aren't for speed they are designed for daily driving and the range isn't even that great lol
