Black men, keep in mind that excess tension and continuous tension will take your hair out. Excess maintenance or extreme retwists of locs will take your hair out. Going to people who braid your hair so tightly that you end up with soreness will take your hair out. I beg to differ on locs. If you want a fresh look, locs are simply nto the style because of the excessive maintenance issue. They will get frizzy, they will have flyaways. These are usually not captured on camera or simply get edited out by filters, so people end up finding out the hard way that there's generally a lot of frizz associated with locs. For some people, newgrowth will grow into each loc, but with many, newgrowth will just do whatever it wants and cross over into other locs. It's definitely a great hairstyle that is highly individualistic, but I just want you to be aware that it can get a little crazier than you anticipate. Especially those who are very used to having fresh do's have a rude awakening once they get locked because it's a complete 180 from what they wanted. Do not get locs if you want your hair to be under complete control at most times!

keep in mind with cornrows do not get them if you already have a big forehead
the braids will pull your head back and bring your forehead out even more.
But if you have a small forehead your good to go,
