K so let me tell you what happened with me whit this memory card situation. First I had this 128gb sandisk memory card used with my windows tablet. Got switch- deleted everything from the card put it in started to use it. Had no problem with it at all donwloaded games and stuff no problem. Than when I had to update a game I got this error code always. So I looked up it saying it has to be formatted with this special app u can use it and it will work with the switch. Format went through . Than putting memory card back. Still everything on it. Tried to format the memory card through the switch. Did it turn on. Nothing been formatted. Ok delete games one by one. Ok. Says memory card empty. Go to the main menu. Still all the games there go back to check the memory. It says it has all the game on it still.Ok no problem left the memory card in deleted my whole switch back to factory settings. Switch boot saying your swith has a memory card it has to be formatted . I click on it switch restart and get the same message again.so it didn’t work. Put back to pc maybe I can format there. It says pc cannot format for some reasons. dont know what the heck is going on but im getting sick of this.

The switch we have won't read, show or let me format the micro SD card.it don't even Tell me restart the console to use the card.we have the first switch model and the original one.

You have to format the Sd card in order to have it at its full capacity right or else you would put in a 32gb sd card and in the switch itll show like 20gb. So in order to get the actual 32gb you need format the sd card in order to have the full capacity correct? It wont harm any of my saved data in my switch right like my system internal memory? i dont wanna lose my animal crossing!

So when you format a sd card you can move your data of a game to the main data of the switch

Installed my first micro sd card (SanDisk 256 GB) it tries formatting multiple times and restarts.. then eventually gets a Error code 2016-0641... so what’s the fix action guys? Can I format on windows? Not trying to waste $$$

My switch won’t let me format my micro sd card. Every time I try it tells me error code 2016-0390 so it won’t let me use it.

mine wont auto format... i went to the option you did in the video and it told me it wasnt inserted. to turn off my console and reinsert sd card... but... i did it twice and it still wont read it...

how does one install games onto the microsd card? i can archive a game but it says i would have to redownload it from the eshop. It only saves the saved game files to the microsd card on archive
