I suspected you'd have Serpentor on there! In the comics, he also had Genghis Khan, if I recall correctly; in the cartoon, he also had Alexander the Great, Ivan the Terrible, and they attempted to get Sun Tzu, but instead got Sgt. Slaughter! I think there were supposed to be 10 or 12 DNA contributors in each case, but the figure and commercial only mentioned Napoleon, Julius Caesar, Hannibal, and Attila the Hun. I have to credit Serpentor's back-stories with engendering a lot of my interest in history!

Awesome job! I really love the weird side of G.I. Joe, especially Crystalball and Raptor. I subbed to the channel. I can't wait for your next video.

...and Crystal Ball was named by Stephen King's son. They did kinda cover that mythos about Serpentor in the Sunbow cartoon before the movie, then the movie happened.. =[. I thought the Raptor would have fit better in Masters of the Universe than GI Joe, and Croc master would be even cooler if Mindbender crossed his DNA with that of a croc! Have an army of them guarding Cobra Island..."No Bazooka! look out!!" chomp! The others on that list are cool choices, though the creepiest should be Dr Mindbender, after all he's the mad scientist that created half the list lol. Great video! Stay dorky and YO! JOE!!

Another great video. Thanks for posting.
1. BAT was awesome probably my favorite figure your list.
2. Crystal ball was ok was most remembered for sitting on pegs forever no one wanted crystal ball.
3. Crocmaster was super popular in Florida backyards, Raptor was ok, really just a forgotten figure.
4. Dinosaurs were part of every kid's playtime. Was after my joe days but i would have welcomed dino hunters.
5. Toxo Zombies are a total pass for me.
6. Didn't have mind bender as a kid, have but he made my adult collection.
7. Aliens were also after my joe days but would happily have found a place in my playverse as a kid.
8. Loved cobra LA.The movie was awesome. Don Johnson was Florida royalty in 80s. I try not to go full on nerd but Cobra La and Star Wars new Jedi order Yuzon Vong connection is pretty clear.
9. Bio and monstro vipers were after my time but Bio viper was especially cool.
10. Serpentor was ok. was overpriced because of chariot so we never had as kids.

Funny...as a kid I LOVED Bats and Mindbender, but thought that Cobra La and the rest of the supernatural stuff to be kinda crappy, He-Many stuff. As an adult, I went back and now I love the creativity and file cards. Now I totally dig them. Love the weirdos!!

When people downgrade G.I.Joe to only an American army thing with Duke or a Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow ninja thing, I think they miss one of the best part of G.I.Joe, the many special characters that the series possess. Not that Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow aren't good characters but there is far more to G.I.Joe than those.

Cobra started with the supernatural elements early on in the toyline, even before the B.A.T. androids and Mindbender; look at Zartan with his chameleonic abilities and Tomax and Xamot.

Sure, a lot of Zartan's abilities were chalked up to "holograms", but his skin turning blue when sunlight hit it? I guess you can try to explain it away as a "skin condition", but that ain't no skin condition I've ever seen lol

And Tomax and Xamot's Coriscan Brothers routine, feeling what the other brother feels, and (in the comic book) one brother being able to see through the other brother's eyes? Definitely supernatural.

Dinohunters was from 1993 the same year as Jurassic Park which just blends with the cash grab thing. This, Mega Marines, and Star Brigade leave me wondering what in the heck the people who thought this was a good idea were smoking?!

Bats are not supernatural and are just robots.

Dude Cobra was rocking the drones (i.e. the B.A.T.s) long before we thought such a thing was plasuable. Also whose idea was it to name a character Crystal Ball? This product line was intended for preteen boys. Some poor kid didn't get Snake Eyes or Flint...they got a dude named for the kid who got kicked in the nuts at recess! Lol!

Great as always. I know you're going to have somethingspecial for Halloween.

Yeah, Hasbro was really reaching there at the end. Too bad. Instead of neon paint and goofy monsters, I would rather see Joes in appropriate military gear. I think a more realistic look would better tie them together as a team. Loved the video! Happy Halloween!

So serpentor's past was covered to the g.i. Joe show, however he was collecting artifacts from his past lives to stimulate his DNA in the ep his face changed to the past leaders/warriors, and he had a giant pet snake, and I mean giant this thing could swallow a tank. I'm kind of impressed you didn't mention any of the Valor vs venom figure, mostly venomous maximus this figure looked like a monster and it was general hawk mutated by dr. Mindbender's tech, and cobra commander playing with it. Think new age Serpentor only ugly, beast like face, resident evil kind of monster arm, slapped cobra commander around alot. All the cobra troops for that line had spliced DNA with animals the cobra eel was now splice with electric eel DNA and could give off a nasty shock, snow vipers splice with artic wolf DNA, and so on, did they look beastly no, but the eel viper was translucent and had a light inside, the only real looking beast in the lot was venomous maximus. To be honest I kind of liked the monster concept, not for like a main stream thing you don't need to put it in the comics or anything, just make some monster like creatures as an off brand of G.I. JOE, like street fighter or mortal combat, only bring them out around Halloween and kids can go nuts only make them like the Joe figures at that time, same articulation and all.

Great review for awesome figures I'm pretty open with GI JOE and the characters I like, the think the more stranger characters the better, makes for a bit of diversity..and guess what I even like Raptor 🦅

Why?!.. Why?!!!.. did you have to include the Dino Hunters on this awesome list? The crappy Dino Hunters completely ended this great toy line and their story line sucked. Face it pal you dropped the ball on all of kids (born between 1973-1982) who loved this toy and storyline when you included those crappy Dino Hunters.
