As a recovering addict I felt this with my soul. I started shooting heroin when I was 14. It was the first time I felt genuinely ok thus I didn't stop for 17 years, 10 of them was me homeless on the street, with my mother who was my running partner. She just passed away February 11th. This hit me so hard. I love you man. So much. My clean date is 10/01/2018. I will never go back but forever I will miss that "warm hug" feeling. It's relief in it's purest form, u literally feel like 1000 pounds has been taken off ur shoulders BUT I don't miss being sick, I don't miss the lifestyle, I don't miss anything except that feeling of feeling OK. NEVER EVER TRY IT, PLEASE. I was doing heroin when it was real heroin. The $hit that's around now IS NOT THAT. It will kill you. NEVER EVER DO IT.

This song hits me hard. I spent from the end if my 20's through most of my 30's addicted to heroin, add a handful of years on a methadone program & a relapse after that. I'm finally completely clean and recovering! It's been a long hard road and I lost so many loved ones on the way... Life is so much better now, but there will always be some nostalgia. I'll always miss the "warm hug" feeling of the only thing that ever made me feel OK with myself and in the world... I'm working on myself though. I like to think that eventually I'll be comfortable in my own skin, or at least find a healthy, non-destructive form of comfort.... Anyhow, I love this song. It just really strikes a chord within me...
