The revolving water economy of India requires a proactive policy action that needs to be implemented and today is the day, observed across the globe as World Water Day. It seems relevant to think out loud about managing the water resources in a better way, highlighting the significance of water and raising awareness concerning the water crisis that is being faced by the world.

As per the website of the UN (United Nations), this day is mainly focusing on “supporting the achievement of SDG 6 (Sustainable Development Goal), which will be offering water and sanitization for all by the year 2030.”

History of World Water Day
In the year 1992, a conference of United Nations on Environment and Development was occurred in Rio de Janeiro along with that at the same year the UNGA moved as well as had adopted a resolution that declared the 22nd March as the day of the World Water Day. Since 1993, the day has been marked and it became a part of the approaches for raising awareness about the importance of water conservations and the measures of sanitization are key to the reduction of poverty, growth of the economy and environmental sustainability.
