The journey of the Aston Martin Valhalla began in 2019 with the introduction of the AM-RB 003 concept. After years of anticipation and delays, Aston Martin has finally unveiled its groundbreaking mid-engine supercar. Was the wait worthwhile? While the ultimate verdict will come after test drives, the specifications suggest something truly exceptional.

At the heart of the Valhalla lies a powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain generating an impressive total output of 1,064 horsepower. Most of this power—817 horsepower—comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine positioned right behind the driver. Unlike the engine found in the DBX707, this version has been extensively re-engineered. It features a flat-plane crankshaft, custom pistons, and a dry-sump lubrication system, all designed to enhance performance. Aston Martin also installed upgraded turbochargers, bespoke camshafts, and a new ignition system to ensure peak power delivery.

Supporting this fierce internal combustion engine are three electric motors. One is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, serving as a starter and a generator for the battery pack. The other two motors are mounted at the front, driving each wheel independently. This setup enables all-wheel-drive traction, torque vectoring, and even an electric-only driving mode. In electric mode, the Valhalla can travel up to 8.6 miles at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour using only the front motors. Notably, the car lacks a traditional reverse gear, relying on these front motors for reversing.

When everything works together, the Valhalla rockets from zero to 62 miles per hour in a claimed 2.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 217 miles per hour. This staggering speed is partly due to the car’s advanced aerodynamic design. In normal driving, the rear wing remains tucked away to preserve the vehicle’s sleek silhouette. Activate race mode, however, and the wing rises dramatically, while a front splitter extends outward. This setup maximizes downforce, peaking at 1,322 pounds at 149 miles per hour. The car’s Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control system continuously adjusts the wing angles to maintain optimal downforce as speeds climb.

The Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control system also manages critical elements such as suspension, steering, braking, and torque vectoring. Drivers can choose from four driving modes: Race, Sport Plus, Sport, and a default comfort setting. In Race mode, the driver aids are deactivated for a pure, unfiltered experience.

The Valhalla’s chassis is as sophisticated as its powertrain. It boasts a five-link rear suspension and a Formula One-inspired pushrod front suspension mounted inboard for better handling and increased space for electric components. These suspension components are attached to aluminum subframes connected to the vehicle’s carbon-fiber monocoque structure. Despite its advanced systems, the Valhalla has a dry weight of just 3,648 pounds—a remarkable achievement for an all-wheel-drive hybrid with three electric motors.

Braking power comes from six-piston Brembo calipers gripping massive 16.1-inch carbon ceramic discs at the front—the largest brakes ever fitted to a production Aston Martin. Four-piston calipers with 15.3-inch discs manage braking at the rear. The car rides on custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires wrapped around 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

Inside, the Valhalla offers a purposeful yet premium environment. Butterfly doors open to reveal an interior dominated by exposed carbon-fiber elements. A Formula One-inspired steering wheel, two digital displays mounted on a carbon-fiber dash brace, and racing-style bucket seats with a single carbon-fiber frame define the cabin’s sporty character. However, Aston Martin has not sacrificed comfort entirely. The interior features luxurious Alcantara upholstery, a high-end Bowers & Wilkins sound system, satellite navigation, and Apple CarPlay integration.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Adrian Hallmark describes the Valhalla as "the ultimate driver’s supercar" that blends hypercar performance with real-world usability. Production is set to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with only 999 units planned. Pricing details remain under wraps, but enthusiasts can already start customizing their dream Valhalla through Aston Martin’s official website.

Soo, basically the British take on a AMG One...😉
Only this Valhalla is much cheaper, more powerful (combustion engine) and still looks better than AMG One...😎👌

All the best to AM. Now they have great GT and supercars in offer + SUV. Jaguar, Lotus... they should learn how you use F1 resources and create appealing cars.

It appears that Acura is getting the last laugh. AM, Fararri and Lamborghini are all following their lead in high performance hybrid tech.
