How is doing the bare minimum a " BIG W" thats how they try to make more money. You take away something basic and give it back when your taking away something else. "Look guys, it doesn't matter that installing other browsers is way harder and annoying now, ( just for the CLEAR sake of forcing uninformed people to stick to edge ) because installing apps is easier" YES THANK YOU MICROSOFT I LOVE IT !!!

Microsoft has made a simple trick to make users think they are downloading an exe file they know. In reality, it just launches the Microsoft store.

Getting the .exe directly is huge. As an IT guy I can tell you that the App store breaks sometimes or is blocked by policies. Getting the .exe for some programs (like MS Todo) is great

The funniest thing about this is that this is THE WAY YOU GET SOFTWARE FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS
They literally just gave up and made their app store operate the exact same as all of the non-app stores, with the extra step of having a garbage launcher installed. This is the biggest cloaked L in Windows history.
They have all this money and still can't even come close to something like apt install lmfao
