This works! I did this last year with a single bareroot strawberry plant in a large-ish container - got 20 new plants to transplant into the ground.

I get all my perennials in August here in Michigan. After your season ends look for your clearance items.

None in my area. I had enough from my strawberries anyhow. Bareroot is what i got after March. 1st yr strawberries you need to cut off runners to help the roots.

My strawberry beds don't have more room for runners so can I dig up the mother plant and ransplant it into another bed? This year I rooted the runners in cups until they were rooted, Hopefully they'll survive in my hoophouse.

How funny! Just a month ago I bought a couple of strawberry plants. They didn’t have runners when I bought them but they are putting out runners right now!
