I designed my son’s small bathroom around a nautical theme and we used polished chrome mixed with polished brass. We added a round mirror to make it look like a porthole and in this room the mixture really worked well.

If your rooms are open concept or connected, take one element from a adjoining room and use it to tie the 2 spaces together without having to decorate both rooms the same.

If you mix 2 metals in a water loop you should check the galvanic corrosion chart to see if those won't corrode

does mixing 2-3 finishes include the door hinges and handles? seeing matte black hinges and door handles in modern builds, but not sure if i should stick to safer and traditional silver hinges?

Hello - thank you for your help. How about us basic folks who pretty much have options: brushed nickel, bronze, black and chrome.
Bronze and brushed nickel? Nickel inside the shower, bronze outside? Does that fly?

What about when you’re in the kitchen? Do they stainless appliances count as 1?

Great video. We are getting platinum glass ge appliances. Would nickel look bad in with that sine they are glass on stainless — and stainless and nickel clash? Thanks.

I live in a 1976 ranch style home. The walls are mid tone gray depending on the time of day it can pull warm or cool. However my counters are brown granite with brown travertine backsplash with white cabinets and black hardware. My sink is above mount stainless steel with oil rubbed bronze faucet. My bathrooms are brown cabinets with white counters and brushed nickel hardware. Painting is not in the budget right now. What would be a good hardware option?

Sounds like i did everything wrong. Lol I mixed polished nickel faucets and pot filler with brushed brass hardware.

Accidentally put a black and brushed nickel faucet in my powder room but the light fixture has a polished nickel base with black cords and clear globes.

I am redoing a bathroom; I am using oil rubbed bronze plumbing fixtures but the shower door company made a mistake and used black matte hardware on the shower door. What do I do now? I can't remove all the fixtures. Can I mix another metal somewhere to break up the two dark metals? Help! and thanks!
