Now, the Sunrise Express is the last non-luxurious sleeper car trains available in Japan. It won't be around for long so definitely try it out if you get the chance to when you visit Japan!

anyone curious, it runs between Tokyo and Osaka and Takamatsu. there’s another one called the sunrise izumo which is between tokyo and okayama

Well instead of getting rid of it they can convert it into a moving tourism hotel or something like that in which tourists can take a ticket and it will travel to famous tourist destinations in Japan one by one. Seems like a profitable business to me.

I live in Switzerland and the view on basically every trainride outside the cities is so mindblowing that it gets boring really quick and then you remember what you paid for the ticket and feel bad for two days. Because it was like 45 Bucks for 60miles.
