A Walk Around Puerto Rico: Visual Arts of Puerto Rico

Join ASI teachers, Daniela and Hanna, for the sixth lesson of "A Walk Around Puerto Rico," where you will be learning about cultural and artistic events, like Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián and Santurce es Ley. You will be prompted to think about how arts and crafts shape a community. Why is art important? How can art give people a medium to express their point of view? Vocab:
La San Se' - Also known as Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián, a weekend spent in the streets of Old San Juan enjoying delicious food, live music, and hundreds of kiosks with artists exposing and selling their art
Vejigante - A folkloric character in Puerto Rican festival celebrations, mainly seen during for special cultural events like La San Se’
Careta - A mask
Murals - An artwork (typically largescale) applied directly onto a wall, ceiling, or other permanent surface
