Just upgraded from a EVGA 3080ti to a ASUS TUF 4080 Super. I wanted RT and don't regret it at all. All these folks stating they're going to wait for the 5000 series cards, yeah good luck with that. Those are geared towards AI production, if you think the crypto era was bad, wait until the 5000's come out they'll be almost impossible to get. Forget any MSRP's, people will be shelling out $2500-$3000 AM easy and even that's probably a low number.

This is not much of an improvement over 3080ti. I have EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Ultra, and I'll wait until the RTX 5000 series comes out.

Definitely waiting for the 50, 60, or maybe even 70 series to upgrade, looking at these numbers. This is a very minor increase by comparison and nothing will be substantial until we can maintain 360+ fps on these games so that we can upgrade our refresh rates; given that the gaming industry doesn't keep ruining optimization with each sloppy release.

Just purchased the 4080 Super FE. I stream on Twitch AND use a 3440x1440 screen. Most games run excellent but some of the newer cutting edge games were starting to dip as low as 40 at times. When not streaming they are 60+ easy, but I pretty much always stream when gaming. The 3080ti is still going for 500-600 on eBay. If I can get just $500 out of it then the upgrade will be fully worth. Let go of those cards now before they announce the 50 series..

Is it worth to upgrade from 3080ti to 4080 super because of better thermals?
I know the the 35% performance increase is not worth it. However, I run my current evga 3080ti undervolted and power locked below 300W in order not to burn it down too fast. It can easily go up to 340W and above 75C if a game wants to. And I see 40xx cards not having those issues, since their TDPs are pretty reasonable.
Too bad Nvidia cut off 40xx production right before 50xx series production starts. It means if my 3080ti burns out, then I will not be able to buy even a 4070ti super as a replacement.

is not that much really, And there are rumours that the 5080 will be a 4080 super super,
I'm a bit unsure about the upgrade, the 3080ti still gives solid performance at 4k (granted, sometimes I have to lower details to high or a combination between medium and high)
