U.S. authorities have indicted Indian billionaire Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar over a multi-billion-dollar bribery and fraud scheme. The indictment, filed on Wednesday in New York, accuses the Adanis of paying $265 million in bribes to Indian government officials to secure solar energy contracts. Prosecutors also allege that the Adanis, along with former CEO Vneet Jaain of Adani Green Energy, concealed corruption to secure $3 billion in loans and bonds.
