The pipe clamp slider is my favorite for lg boxes, but Making an adjustable height end stands for it might make it more versatile, especially with thinner gauge metal tou can't clamp to without distortion. One for the floor and a smaller one for the table. I use a similar setup, but set the pipe on jack stands.

Do you ever use your knee on the foot pedal when crouching? I do it all the time, but never see anyone else doing it. One day I'll have a Torch control, but for now, I'll just take a knee!!🤣
