When I tell you I had my room wallpapered with Prince when I was his future wife at 13!! He was everything!!

His musical range is boundless. He played Every instrument masterfully. He played 27 instruments masterfully at the age of 15. I saw him in concert in 1981, he was standing on top of the piano playing it with his feet in high heel boots while playing the guitar at the same time. The crowd was in awe! He wasn’t even looking at the guitar or piano while playing them. He was just looking at the crowd laughing while playing. He was incredible! 😂

I had the honor and time of my life working the first Prince concert (1982) as part of my work-study job at the University of Michigan, and taking Prince, Jerome Benton and Morris Day, who we found out that we're related. 💜

Prince definitely deserves his own playlist. You said none of his songs sound the same? His albums are the same. No two Prince albums sound alike. He had a crazy run from 1978-1994 dropping one album every year in that time. Some of the very best music of all time.

Love watching you get started on this Prince journey. He is my favorite by far. I’m really excited about you getting to his live performances. I recommend the following live performances: anything from his 2009 Montreux Jazz Fest performances (my favorites are Empty Room/Elixer, All the Critics Love U, and Little Red Corvette - it’s very different from the version you just watched, and it is fantastic), Mitherless Child, America, Play That Funky Music/Hollywood Swinging/Fantastic Voyage, Shhh, The Question if U, and any version of Purple Rain (my favorite is the one he did at the American Music Awards - at least it’s that version today). I could go on and on but will stop there. Keep going down the Prince rabbit hole. You will love every minute of it.
