In April my rent, one bedroom, one bath, apt. in over 55 apt. complex (only amenity is laundry that charges. My rent went from $665 a month to $983 a month. I’m 72 living on SS receiving $1, 391 a month, after working for 40+ years. And our government expects me to survive and they wonder why there’s so many homeless! Also, I have never been on welfare, I do receive $120 in monthly food stamps. Cannot believe after working 40+ years, sometimes I worked two jobs, and always paid my taxes and Social Security, to end up struggling so. And I know I’m not the only Senior who is going through this. You would think our government would, at the very least, put a cap on how much landlords can raise the rent!!!
