The most capable version of the 2025 Porsche Taycan lineup, which starts at $230,000, achieved an impressive lap time of 7:07.55 at the Nürburgring.
The new, incredibly fast flagship of Porsche's EV portfolio produces up to 1,092 hp (815 kW / 1,108 PS) and is equipped with a range of aerodynamic and chassis upgrades in line with the heritage of Porsche's GT brand models. Additionally, the optional Weissach package contributes to weight reduction by eliminating the rear seats and replacing them with a carbon fiber partition, transforming the vehicle into a two-seat, track-focused powerhouse.
The Taycan Turbo GT features an upgraded version of the dual-motor powertrain used in the Taycan Turbo S. Porsche engineers have incorporated a new rear electric motor controlled by a "more powerful and efficient pulse inverter" that uses silicon carbide as a semiconductor material. They also increased the transmission ratio and increased the durability of the gearbox.
As a result, the total power reaches 777 hp (580 kW / 789 PS). When launch control is activated, this figure increases to 1,019 hp (760 kW / 1,033 PS) and reaches a full 1,092 hp (815 kW / 1,108 PS) for two seconds. These figures crown the Taycan Turbo GT as the most powerful production Porsche to date, surpassing all other Taycan versions and even the 918 Spyder. Additionally, the torque figure is rated at a whopping 988 lb-ft (1,340 Nm).
According to Porsche, the new 2025 Taycan Turbo GT accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 2.2 seconds, or 2.1 seconds with the optional Weissach package. Similarly, acceleration from 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) is completed in 6.6 seconds or 6.4 seconds respectively, while top speed is 190 mph (306 km/h).
Another highlight is the Attack Mode, which unlocks an extra 160 hp (120 kW / 163 PS) of power for 10 seconds, inspired by Formula E racers. While the standard Taycan already has a "push-to-go" function, Attack Mode offers a more pronounced boost and is easier to activate and deactivate using the right-side paddle.
Porsche Taycan Turbo GT embodies its track-focused character with its redesigned body kit. The standout visual feature is the adaptive rear spoiler with Gurney flap. This wing is complemented by a prominent splitter with integrated "aeroblades", as well as a similar application on the rear diffuser. The Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package produces a total downforce of 220 kg (485 lbs) together with the air deflector elements in the underbody.
Additionally, the B-pillars feature carbon fiber trim that matches the trim on the side skirts and mirror caps. The model is available in six colors, including the new Pale Blue Metallic and Purple Sky Metallic, featured in the gallery. Owners also have the option to customize it further with decals or via the optional paint-to-sample program offered by the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur division.
Most importantly, it comes equipped with a new set of 21-inch lightweight forged wheels wrapped in grippy tires. In addition to reducing weight, the wheel rims were designed to increase the cooling of Porsche's upgraded ceramic brakes, accented by Victory Gold calipers. This reinforced braking system is complemented by a Turbo GT-specific tuning for the standard Porsche Active Ride suspension.
Inside, Porsche chose Race-Tex and black leather upholstery for the 18-way adjustable Adaptive Sport Seats and GT Sport steering wheel. Turbo GT badging can be found on the headrests and center console. The dark-themed cabin pictured can optionally be decorated with contrasting shades of Volt Blue or GT Silver, as well as different tones for contrast stitching.
Weissach Package Deletes Rear Seats
For hardcore enthusiasts, the Weissach package takes things to the extreme by removing the rear seats, analogue clock, floor and trunk mats and insulation material to maximize weight reduction. Porsche even opts for a single, manually operated charging port on the passenger side and lighter luggage supplies.
Additionally, the Sound Package Plus forgoes the Bose surround sound system in favor of special sound and heat insulating glass. These measures increase the power-to-weight ratio, making the Taycan Turbo GT up to 71 kg lighter than the Taycan Turbo S.
Deliveries of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT are expected to begin in summer 2024. Pricing starts at $230,000 before tax, title, registration, dealer charges and $1,995 delivery fee. This marks a $21,000 increase compared to the Taycan Turbo S, making it the Taycan's most expensive model to date.
