Disproving Pre-tribulation Rapture: With Dr. Craig Keener

We welcomed Dr. Craig Keener to the show to hear his viewpoints on the Rapture. Dr. Keener did his Ph.D. work in New Testament and Christian Origins at Duke University and is known for his work as a New Testament scholar on Bible background (commentaries on the New Testament in its early Jewish and Greco-Roman settings). Well over a million of his thirty-plus books are in circulation and have won thirteen national and international awards. His award-winning, popular-level IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament has sold over half a million copies.

Personally i think teaching merely pre trib is dangerous. What if someone is counting on pre trib, but then is here to witness the trib? Will they then think God lied? Will they not be prepared for what's to come?

After many years I came to the same conclusion that the rapture and second coming were the same thing! Not to sound arrogant but it's nice to have a biblical scholar share the same understanding. No matter your views on this, God bless you! We are all united in Christ even when we differ in certain areas of interpretation.

I came to Christ in Oct of 1968. Summer of 1970, I read Hal Lindsey's book Late Great Planet Earth, with an open Bible along side. It was okay, I understood, but did not believe. Later I heard a debate about Pre, Mid, & Post rapture. Over the past 50yrs I have read too many books on the subject. Maybe 20yrs ago I got a check in my spirit. "Judge a tree by its fruit". Pre & Mid Trib fruit is "who cares we are not going to be here". Which is counter to, "The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it." Maybe 5yrs ago I came across Irvin Baxter's End Times Ministry, that teaches Post Trib. RIP Irvin Baxter, but his ministry carries on. I am at peace with my post trib belief.

This woman is very knowledgeable, I learned a lot. I grew up watching Pastor Murray from the shepherds Chapel, so I knew from the get-go that the rapture was false doctrine. It is slowly but surely fading away on its own. Good riddance, not going to give false hope to people.

Impatience and not wanting to suffer (even if it’s for Christ) is the characteristic of this generation. It’s going to be very hard for many people, but it will polish you like a diamond to be ready to meet Jesus. Remember that we are all appointed to death, not even the disciples were spared tribulation and death, so if you will not experience death, it’s going to be very special. As with everything that is valuable, there is a price to pay. Just be strong, pray a lot and trust in God until the end, no matter what.
