Describing PM Modi’s address to the US Congress as a “well-received speech”, US Congressman Ro Khanna told ANI, “I think the Prime Minister gave a very strong speech.” “He had not just one standing ovation, I think he had 8 or 10 standing ovations...great rousing speech, it was very well received...very popular obviously...” said US Congressman Rich McCormick. Similar reactions were recorded by different US Congressmen and Congresswomen. Meanwhile, during the official State Dinner at The White House, PM Modi asserted, “There is one more thing left to do tonight- please join me in raising a toast. A toast to our wonderful hosts, President Biden and Jill Biden. A toast to good health, prosperity and the pursuit of happiness, liberty, equality and to the ever-lasting bonds of friendship between India and the United States”.

The US Representatives, who were present during the address, talked about the parts of Prime Minister Modi’s speech which resonated with them the most. US Representative of the 6th District of , Gary Palmer said, “It was an important address considering that India is the world’s largest democracy and one of the oldest.” John Duarte, US Representative of the 13th District of California, said, “Watching PM speak about American and Indian partnership, standing for democracy, freedom and opportunity around the world is very motivating.”
