Namibia is seeing a boom in oil & gas exploration activity. Today we've got expert input from Colin Higgins to help us navigate the world of drilling rigs.
Some of the highest spec'd rigs have been drilling in the deep waters of Namibia in recent months. We talk through some differences between a drillship and a semisubmersible and describe the specific rigs drilling in the area. We also discuss how much a rig costs to run and estimate the total amount spent by oil & gas companies to date - and that is before a single drop of oil has been sold!
