Connie (Nikki Muller) is a beautiful psychology student. Tristan (Linden Furnell) is a charming slacker. They have both volunteered as "guinea pigs" in a clinical experiment for a new "super-drug".
Sealed off from the outside world, the initial attraction between them turns into something much more intense and passionate, spiraling dangerously out of control as their daily dosage of the drug gets stronger. The two doctors (Tan Kheng Hua & Adrian Pang) overseeing the experiment become increasingly conflicted about the ethical implications of their work, and their personal relationship beyond the laboratory begins to cloud their objectivity about the complex issues surrounding the experiment.
As souls are bared and secrets are exposed, all four of them are forced to ask: is this a chemical romance - a side effect of the drug? Or is it "the real thing"?
As the first production in their 2016 Season of Love, Pangdemonium (the folks who brought you Tribes and Chinglish) presents a sexy, funny and provocative exploration into the human brain via the heart, examining questions of sanity, today's pill-popping culture, and ultimately, the nature of this thing called "LOVE".
