Labor’s Wayne Swan calls for a review of government’s Qatar Airways decision

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has ruled out a review of the decision to ban Qatar Airways from adding extra flights to Australia, but Labor Party President Wayne Swan wants him to reconsider.

For any ALP member, let alone a top boss and former Treasurer, and *current* National ALP President to question the Government like this can only mean the knives are being sharpened.

Swanny is Labor party right faction. As are most of the Labor MPs.

Albozo is hard left. As is Burney, Wong, Plibersek and Conroy. Who also happen to be the most vocal and visible Voice proponents.

If the Voice fails to reach a Yes vote in two States or less, as is almost certain going on current public sentiment, the Right faction are going to clean house, starting with Albozo as soon to be ex-leader.

It doesn’t make an ounce of sense!
OK, protect a national carrier (while screwing another, Virgin which is Qatar’s partner) but you hit a point where the cost outweighs the benefits. (And Qatar’s expansion will lead to more Aussie jobs in the airline industry). The tourism industry is hurt by this decision. Aussies forking out way more than citizens of other countries to travel abroad or to return to Australia!
