Yeah I agree. (although I do not use the rear screen that much) This is an awesome camera and a big step up from the Q2. The AF us better, but you can not quite rely on it. For me the only downside is there is no zoomed view when in crop mode. I would prefer that over the crop lines (a choise obviously). I use the crop mode a lot. It would make it far easier to compose. Great video and thoughts. It really is a special package. You've summed up everything I love about the Q2 and why I own the Q2. The Q2 for me though was the gateway into the Leica ecosystem. All of that said I do enjoy the shooting experience of the Leica M and having the compression of longer lenses or the flexibility of a wide that an interchangeable lens system offers. While the cropping on the Q series is great, it doesn't offer the same look. Not sure if I'll get the Q3 just yet but having used it for a short while, I have to say it's an incredible camera.

Interesting to hear about the AF speed and relatively minor improvement over the Q2 (with current firmware), contrary to what other channels - perhaps ones affiliated with Leica - are saying.

Agree with every single word you said :) I too in love with this amazing camera. This is my first Leica and each time I look on images coming from this camera I am stunned and couldn't believe that this quality is real :)

Good review, Thank you. I have a CL and SL2s so know first hand that Leica AF leaves a lot to be desired .Thank you for being open about this. So many reviewers are not so candid. You can work around it but Leica are still playing catch up with the big three where AF is concerned .

Usb c, tilt screen- i want it. But i stay with Q1 which has better AF than Q2, and better low light performance than Q2.

Great review. I just bought the Q2M to concentrate on b&w, but I must say the improvements in the Q3 are enticing. I’m interested in your AF comments, because that is my only concern about the Q2 so far. In fact, I’ve done a couple of tests to check out the focus and I would say that I will rely on spot and eye for AF, and otherwise manual and zone. Multi field is unpredictable, especially, and, not surprisingly, in low contrast, potential overexposure, situations. Did you have this issue with the Q2 and is it better with the Q3? Others want to comment? Thanks. Geoff

I love that you put the AF issues down to hopefully you are right.... it could just be that the lens (same one used in previous generations) is not optimized for it. I will find out on Wednesday when I finally get mine!

Sold my Sony A7IV 35GM and buy the Q3 next to my Sony A1 . Really love the Q3 its now my daily camera

I loving mine but find the ergonomics don’t work for one handed shooting. The back dial is difficult to turn and the buttons are hard to reach with your thumb, and the buttons in the wrong place if you then try to use your free hand . I can shoot one handed with the SL2-S a lot more easily but the size of that is a problem of course. That’s a shame as mostly using it for street. So my GRiiiX comes in the bag as well for quick reaction shots. One handed shooting and changing exposure speed and ISO settings quickly with that is a doddle. Shooting in bright light found the screen hard to see compared to the GRiiiX maybe I’m using the wrong brightness, must check that. Do you have to reset the screen brightness for different conditions yourself Alex? Best Ken
