You should turn around and go back the other way and average out the two to cancel out any wind and grade, etc.

I have the same bike sir. I have seen 78 on it and that was enough. To me this is a great highway bike, but not a freeway bike. Hope you ride safe and sure enjoy the content!

If it hasn't had it's first service yet, the shift light and revs are limited to 7, 500 rpm. Look at the specs on this engine, it redlines at 10, 500rpm. Your video had it's shift light flashing at 7., 500 rpm.

It would be interresting to see the top speed result in 5th gear... thx :)

Just my opinion: I suspect you'd want to wind it out and shift at near redline in 4th and 5th before shifting into 6th to get more top end. My 250L was capable of 84mph (with corrected speedo) on dead flat road. The 300L is tuned to sacrifice some top end to get the grunt at low and mid range so it doesn't have the oomph to wind out in 6th. As you say though, not needed really.

I'm thinking/guessing it might do a couple more in 5th

I can get 80mph no problem on my 2020 250L. I go 75 almost everyday for a short period

Props for the phone mount! It held strong at top speed out in the wind. 👍

I topped about 84mph at 8k rpm on speedometer (pretty sure I could still squeeze a bit more out of it). It probably was just 80mph if I got it on GPS though. Thai model btw, if that makes any difference.

Personally, for me 75 mph is enough. I wouldn't fault the bike for that.

Not bad at all. 👍 I get my 2009 Honda CRF230L up to 55 mph, and that’s about all she wants to put out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It'll probably wake up more as you break it in. I noticed my 2018 rally got a little more peppy after about 1000 miles I believe it was.

I thought it would be able to out run the new pcx but it won't. Still very nice bike and it will go places the pcx won't.

77mph on my 250 Rally fully loaded with camping gear

Thanks for posting! But 75 mph seems a bit disappointing though. On my 2012 250L I have had 136 km/h at most (~85 mph) and on my 2018 250 Rally I have had 140 km/h (~87 mph) Both stock (more or less) with stock speedos which shows 7-8 % too much speed.
Your bike is new, maybe it will loosen up s bit when you get more miles....

I try and stay off the freeway but I have to ride a little to get to my riding areas. 70mph is the fastest I remember on my 250L. In the right conditions I think it might do 75mph also.

I remember top speed on 1993 XT350 was 90mph barely. I had to hurry to work 100 miles ride. Also got 6 speed and air cool engine.

The speedometer is probably off. Try it again with a speed app on your phone. I weigh 250lbs and my 250l is fully modded and I get 75 mph. Weight makes a huge difference on these bikes.

its crazy..im 6'2 was 300 lbs and get my 20 250l over 80 quite often..and even over 85 a few times..i've seen so many of these 300l videos and most arent getting over 80.. seems odd to me..dont really need it to go that fast but it'll do it..
