Το τραγούδι γράφτηκε, μετά από μία απρόσμενη συνάντηση της παρέας του δημιουργού, Tony Violaris, με ένα κορίτσι, σε ένα ακατοίκητο νησί, την πρώτη Μεσσηνίας, απέναντι από τους Γαργαλιάνους. Το κορίτσι ήταν η Σούλα.
