Long before our time, when the world was young and humanity still walked closely with the stories of the first creation, there lived a prophet named Nuh (Noah), peace be upon him. He was a man of patience, strength, and unshakable faith, chosen by Allah (God) to carry a message of truth to a world drowning in falsehood.

🌿 A World Gone Astray
As generations passed after the time of Adam (peace be upon him), people slowly began to forget the oneness of Allah. They started to worship idols, giving them names like Wadd, Suwa’, Yaghuth, Ya‘uq, and Nasr. These statues, which began as tributes to righteous men, became objects of devotion, and soon, polytheism spread far and wide.

People indulged in evil, pride, corruption, and injustice. The poor were oppressed, the weak ignored, and the truth buried beneath generations of arrogance. So Allah, in His mercy, sent a prophet to guide them back — Prophet Nuh.

📢 A Prophet’s Call
Nuh stood before his people with courage and sincerity. He called to them:

“O my people, worship Allah. You have no god but Him. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day.”
(Qur’an, Surah Al-A‘raf 7:59)

He preached day and night, in public and private, softly and loudly, never tiring, never stopping. His message was simple and pure: Believe in Allah, turn away from false gods, and live with righteousness.

But most people mocked him. They laughed at his message, ridiculed his words, and dismissed him as a foolish man. The leaders, especially, were defiant. They would say:

“We see you as nothing but a man like ourselves. And we do not see that any follow you except the lowest among us, without thinking. And we see no merit in you.”
(Qur’an, Hud 11:27)

💔 Rejection and Perseverance
Despite the endless rejection, Nuh remained patient and faithful. He preached for 950 years, never losing hope that hearts might turn back to Allah. He watched generations pass, but only a few believed — mostly the poor and humble.

When confronted, he would say:

“Whether you ridicule me or not, I have relied on Allah, my Lord and your Lord. The truth will be known in time.”
(Paraphrased from multiple verses)

Eventually, Nuh realized that the people would not change. Allah revealed to him:

“None of your people will believe except those who have already believed. So do not grieve over what they used to do.”
(Qur’an, Hud 11:36)

At that point, Allah gave Nuh a command — a command that would change the world.

🛠️ The Ark: A Vessel of Salvation
Allah instructed Nuh to build a massive ark — a ship like no one had ever seen before. He was to construct it in the middle of dry land, far from any ocean. Nuh and his small group of believers obeyed.

As he worked, the people mocked him more than ever. “Are you building a ship in the desert?” they jeered. “Where is your flood, O prophet?”

But Nuh replied calmly:

“You mock us now, but we will soon mock you, just as you mock us.”
(Qur’an, Hud 11:38)

With Allah’s guidance, the ark was completed — strong, large, and ready for what was to come.

🐾 The Gathering of Pairs
Allah then instructed Nuh to gather pairs of every animal — male and female — to bring onto the ark, along with the believers. It was a moment of awe: lions and lambs, birds and beasts, crawling and flying creatures, all guided by divine will, marched onto the ark in peace.

Then, when the time came, Allah said:

“Board the Ark, in the name of Allah it sails and anchors. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”
(Qur’an, Hud 11:41)

🌧️ The Great Flood
The skies darkened. Rain began to fall — slowly at first, then in torrents. The earth burst forth with springs, and soon, water surged from both the sky and the ground. The world was engulfed.

People ran in panic. Those who had mocked Nuh now begged for help. But it was too late — the time for repentance had passed.

Among the drowned was Nuh’s own son, who had refused to board the ark. Nuh cried out to Allah for his son, but Allah replied:

“Indeed, he is not of your family; his deeds were unrighteous.”
(Qur’an, Hud 11:46)

This was a painful reminder that faith, not blood, is what binds the righteous.

🕊️ After the Storm
The flood lasted for days and nights, until Allah commanded:

“O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold your rain!”
(Qur’an, Hud 11:44)

The waters receded. The ark came to rest on Mount Judi. Nuh and his followers stepped onto a cleansed earth, grateful and humbled.

Nuh said:

“My Lord, grant me Your mercy, and make my descendants from the righteous.”
(Paraphrased from the Qur’an)

From those few believers, a new humanity began — one rooted in the message of monotheism and obedience to the One God.
