My mantra that I have to keep repeating… progress not perfection. Planner needs to be positive for me, not guilt. Sometimes it’s a battle to give myself permission. It’s great to see a “professional” like you have the same problems. I love it when you show us your “ imperfections, ” because it encourages me to try even if it isn’t successful.

I enjoyed looking through your old spreads! I feel guilty when I don’t write in the planner. But you are right it is okay. I’m terrible with decorating but if I am having fun with it then it’s worth it! Always love your videos! You are my favorite planner! I learn so much from you!

I love colored pens so much. I almost never use black ink. I have a swatch book of my pens and washi so I don't have to constantly swatch them again. I find using more colors means i dont need as many stickers. But I still love your spreads

I am mostly a functional planner. I do decorate a little as the mood strikes. The last few weeks I have been playing my games on my PC. This past week I opened my planner maybe 2 days. It was just pulling me away from my games. I am retired and battling cancer. My daughter is getting ready to move away to college in 6 weeks. We have been working on getting living arrangements set up too. So I haven't wanted to do more than write in appointments for that and doctors. I just have not wanted to spend time on my planner. Soon we will be having grandkids down for 1 at a time week long visits. That will make 3 busy but fun weeks. We are doing that before daughter moves so she can help me if I need rest days. There will be lots of gaming with them and painting lessons and just fun. You have helped me decide it is ok to do the minimum. Thanks!

I totally adore your evolution. It's awesome to see you reflect upon your experiences in terms of how you planned. This is the MAGIC of a life well-lived. I loved them ALL, and your sharing gave me space to say "It's okay" to just decorate my planner...there is NO golden rule to creativity, artistry, and planning. THANK YOU Desiree. I have watched this three times b/c I LOVE seeing all your spreads.

I am 45 and i only have a few things to track in my planner. I got sick in my 20s. I was taught that your planner worked for you you didn't work for me I log my appointments. I take careful notes on those. my regular weakly appointments I write in and the stuff I really want to do because they make me happy I keep on my sidebar I hope you got some inspiration from someone who has used a planner as long as I have.

I find it super fun to look at my old planners and see what I used to do. Crazy how we change with what we do in our planners. ☺️

I am so glad that SOMEONE finally admitted that sometimes they don’t fill in every available white space. When I look at my mostly empty planner week it makes me sad that I don’t have much going on in my life. But I love decorating it, I love florals and love your planner spreads when you do the scenes. When people share their insights and some of them are the same as what we considered problems it puts you on the same level. I mean that in the most admired way. You gave me the idea to look at my empty planner in a totally different way……instead of my life being uneventful…..lol….maybe I should look at it life I was to busy to write in it…..lol……am I rambling….I’m home with COVID for the second time, there’s something for my planner. Oh and I have loved your videos this month !!! Keep’em coming !!

It’s really cool how you decorate it looks great. I prefer just small stickers for planning and very little decorations. I live when my day is not filled...lol I can relax when I see blank spots. I think all stickers people use look like a scrap book and not planner. However do what makes you feel good.

I live for colored pens and markers! I hardly use just black lol I love doing lettering too!! Funny how we all plan so differently! I just enjoy it! It's a fun hobby for me!

Thanks for sharing! I used to keep an everything planner too at the very beginning. Now I also have more than one planner. I carry a daily planner with me for errands and trackers. I transfer anything meaningful or important into my big planner which stays at home.

I just started this and I haven’t decided what happens to the daily pages. Keep or recycle? After going through my old planners, I realized there was a lot of useless information in them. Do I need to know how much water I drank on a certain day 5 years ago? Or that I went to the grocery store? But at the same time, it is a memory of things that were important to me at the time.

I try not to stress about it if life or health get in the way and I don't get stuff done. But one thing I've been doing is filling in my boxes and to-do lists with what I /hope/ to do throughout the week or must do before I lay down decorative elements, even if I have a theme in mind. I don't post my spreads online though. At the end of the week on the spread or an insert sheet I may write a note to myself about why I didn't get the things done (health, unexpected changes, just felt meh, overplanned, etc.). I also try to either on an insert sheet or spread the next week list out all the undone things that could still be done the next week. Or I'll make a note to myself about why something just doesn't need to get done after all or how long I can feasibly put it off. This just helps me feel like I'm trying my best.

I love looking at your old planners. I’m glad you don’t always fill in your planner too. I feel guilty about that. Now I can stop feeling that way. Thanks for sharing.

Thank-you for this. I'm at the stage right now where I have to have every day filled in and stressing.

I've discovered your channel few days ago and I love it!
I usually don't watch videos about scrapbooking or so but in your case I love how you explain ^^

1. I was hit with strong sense of nostalgia when I saw how little you paid for gas in 2018. 😃

2. I completely agree with you about washi tape. I only use washi in my paper journal these days.

I love this make feel so much better about my first spreads, guess we all think and can pick apart our starter spreads lol I only use blue ink in my planner, as everything is black ink at work. Lol I love seeing type of video and maybe lettering with Desiree series soon lol

Great video as always. Desiree, would you mind doing a flip through of your Teresa Collins planner? You ran by it in one of your prior videos & it looked really nice.

Loved this video! Do you ever repurpose or reuse a spread you didn't write in? I find myself doing that lately. It's been fun 'making it current'.
