Metallica - ...And Justice For All (Guitar cover)
Показать описание
Here's my first re-do cover of videos I did on my old channel. I started out with the one with piss poor quality - hopefully I did it justice. I had to relearn (+ learn a lot of new parts) this song, so it's a combination of memory (remember the tabs I used a few years ago) and ear - listening to the guitar tracks just to pick up most of the details. Keep in mind that there's some wrong chords on the Bb5-Bb5-A5 parts in the verse I think. The rest are pretty on spot in my ears.
I've recorded every guitar (and by that I mean EVERY guitar) part, and the rest is from the master tracks (Vocals, drums and yes, BASS). As you may hear, I've also remixed a bit and also remastered it - that needed to be done with new guitar tracks. The drums may sound a bit too harsh, but I had to add some more trebe so the hihat and cymbals could stand out - my guitar tone (4 rhythm guitar tracks) basically ate up a lot of the frequencies of the cymbals, the same with bass - so I had to add more mids in the bass so it at least could stand out a bit more.
And yes, I'm doing my own thing (for the most part) on the solo. Not because I think the solo sucks - I actually think it's a pretty good solo, it fits that part - but since some of my viewers wanted me to do play a Per-solo on my last cover, I decided to do it this time.
Once again, long description. Vote, comment and subscribe if you want, but if you're coming with only (childish) shit - get out of here - waste your energy somewhere else.
Equipment etc used:
Dunlop Jazz III XL Red (pick)
Jackson "DXSD" (aka DXMG) Dinky (guitar on every guitar part)
Line 6 TonePort GX (audio interface)
Line 6 POD Farm (amp simulation)
Steinberg Cubase 4.5 (recording-, mixing- and mastering software)
Apple iPad 3gen/ "The New iPad" (video camera)
Sony Vegas Pro 11.0 (video editing software)
Cheers,
Per Semb
