AUTUMN LEAVES - A TRUE VAMPIRE STORY

Some believe in the things of the Bible. Some do not. Others live their lives, not thinking either way.
I was such a one.
Contemplating or reasoning even the totality of good and evil was not a matter or topic in any of my conversations.
Yes, good, evil, hate, love: in degrees, was no stranger. It was as familiar to my being as eating, drinking, the bed I slept in or the brilliant colors of the stars on a clear moonless night. Back then, like many of you, my intellect covered and solved it all. At that time, no mystery was beyond my understanding.
That was then. Now, I know better. My God, my God, I was such a fool. A man led by the prevailing day to day ordinary affairs of life. Like many, I was a man without superstition or any faith.
That would all change in one interview. The horrible events that the old man imparted to me would be incredible, unbelievable, and would begin during the Civil War.
But don’t be deceived with what others would perceive as the idle talk of an old man. I, too, have seen it. Yes, I have looked pure evil in the face, and I could do nothing but run.
