It's great to hear a drum set that is tuned up this way. Too many reviews have
drum sets that sound like you are hitting a cardboard box. Terriffic skills very
tasty .

The best sounding kick out there from any contemporary drummer.. Wide open, punchy, nice subtle sustain, and a boomy bottom end that would wake up the dead.. No hole in the reso head..How all kicks should sound..

I wonder why there are so few good demo videos on Gretsch drums. This is one of a few that are impressive. DW has way too many especially with their silly press conferences where a dozen drummers go on and on about how unbelievable DW drums are.

Good sounding kit but little muddy mix.. And the drummer, Mr. crash cymbal groove himself!

he doesn't use anything at all in his kick drum to muffle it... He did a clinic at the music store I work at and his bass boomed so loud and he said he likes it to be as open as possible so he tightens the heads up a little and uses to muffling at all.. he was rediculous at the clinic too

Awesome playing, kit sounds sounds pretty horrible compared to the phoenix tubs he used to play, yamaha must really piss on its endorsers, I remember when Vinny picked up gretsch I thought the same thing
