LYRICS
When I was a child I heard voices,
Some would sing and some would scream,
You soon find you have few choices,
I learned the voices died with me

When I was a child I'd sit for hours,
Staring into open flame
Something in it had a power,
Could barely tear my eyes away.

Chorus:
All you have is your fire,
And the place you need to reach,
Don't you ever tame your demons,
But always keep them on a leash.

When I was sixteen my senses fooled me
I thought gasoline was on my clothes
I knew that something would always rule me
I knew the scent was mine alone

All you have is your fire,
And the place you need to reach,
Don't you ever tame your demons,
But always keep them on a leash.

When I was a man I thoguht it ended
When I knew love's perfect ache,
But my peace has always depended,
On all the ashes in my wake.

This songs brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. I have lost my voice and vision, and feel I cant even tell what my dreams or drive are anymore. In case you go on youtube to read comments: Thanks Hozier for reminding me of something very important, I may not remember now but I wont rest until I do.

His voice makes me feel like I'm being pulled under water and I don't even care that I'm drowning.

TWD once again has taken me on an unexpected musical trip. Such a dark, dirty and soulful track with killer vocals. Unequivocally awesome.

He is just amazing. That voice?  Ahhh!  And from a writing perspective, his lyricism is like reading poetry in an old dusty book. I have my Hozier playlist just on a constant loop. OK, must back away from my computer. I could lose an entire day watching Hozier Youtube.

This is a masterpiece. Down to the title. Lullaby because this song doesn’t demonise sociopathy, and grants some level of peace to a soul that’s experienced this. Omg. I’m just in love.
