'Hang-it!' and 'Fire!' Mortar Training with 1st Battalion (Airborne) 501st Infantry Regiment

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska--Paratroopers of 1st Battalion (Airborne) 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, trained on employing the 60mm mortar weapon system on Upper Cole range at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Feb. 6 and 7. Familiarization and proficiency with indirect fire weapons is a key element for the battalion's Soldiers in their echelon of fire and use of heavy weapons in combat operations.
