Should You Scotchgard New Furniture? Is It Toxic? Fabric Protector Tips and Review for Couch

Should you Scotchgard new furniture? After doing a test area on our new couch we were worried Scotchgard Fabric Shield might be too toxic. Then we tested how well protected the fabric we sprayed was. Scotchgard really does a great job as a fabric protector. We were at odds over what do. So, I did a little research on Scotchgard.

We ultimately decided it was worth it, because the water did roll right off. However, we did do our research and also learned from the mistakes we made with the testing area. Here is the full Scotchgard process for our new couch and some tips I definitely recommend so you don't stink your house up with fumes!

They have taken scotch guard off of the market recently, the chemical is toxic and can cause hormonal imbalances. I would recommend washing and finding an alternative brand.
