House coats- these were worn when you were in your PJs and someone came to the door day or night.
Also worn when you got up in the morning after you brush your teeth and comb your hair to cook or come to breakfast.
Also, when you went outside to get the newspaper or you are just home sick and not up to getting dressed.
Stuff like that....

When I saw the thumbnail I clicked so fast! Need to find that pattern for myself. Very intrigued by that reversible raglan coat! I own that ballet-inspired Simplicity set and have even traced them out, but haven't sewn them yet. Whoops! That quilted floral housecoat reminds me so much of my Babcia. Wonderfully vintage.

Nice! I'm fairly certain the housecoat is like a fancy robe to wear around the house, so you're a little more out together, but still in comfy mode.

Lounge wear can be fancy Sunday brunch at home brocades fancy fabrics or day wear at home even over your garment also bot dressed yet answer the door acceptable the house coat👌🏾

My favorites are the ballet collection and the McCalls 1996 classic two piece sets. Can I ask how do you know when they were Circa? I've always wondered how to find out.
